Practitioner Reviews

"This class was thorough and showed different styles. I appreciated learning not just the patterns but the way to approach the piece. Samia also paused to give us all a chance to ask any questions, as well as giving feedback."

"I've done a fair bit of tahriri already but I still learned some great new techniques and tips.  And I highly value being able to learn the authentic methods of doing traditional stitches - I can figure out how to make something look like a photo, but it's important to me to learn more about how our ancestors did it.  I love the history that's included with your classes."

"The instructions were very clear, especially on the prerecorded sessions. Each step was described in great detail."

"Samia was very thorough in her instruction. I love the way that she challenged us to think critically about the design first and then showed us the pattern. I think that really helped me to improve my techniques as a practitioner. Additionally, I learned a lot about the history of Tahriri, which is a stitch/motif I was not familiar with before. I am very excited to apply my learning to my thobe project and other embroidery projects!"

"I loved this class because I felt like I learned something completely new and gained skills that will not only help me with Tahrir but with any type of embroidery design or motif that I want to try. I think the course is really a great way to develop skills in embroidery and the practitioners creative approaches."

"The step by step instruction has built my confidence up and I look forward to adding it to my future pieces."

"I always wanted to work with tahriri.  It’s a beautiful technique that is not taught by my family members.  I can’t wait to be added to my future project."
